General Purpose 30 degree Forming Punches and Dies - scroll down this page
Acute Dies are the most universal type of press brake dies. Recommended as a starter set. Make air-form bends from 30° to shallow bends. The press brake ram is adjusted to limit the depth of punch travel into the die to obtain the desired bend angle. 30° dies can also be used for hemming. Female dies can be purchased with flat top instead of tapered sides. Hardening not recommended for acute angle type tooling due to the higher risk of breakage.

Commonly used for forming 90° bends. Forming bends greater than 90° is also practical by air bending.

General Purpose 30° Forming Punches and Dies
Note: Using wider dies than necessary can decrease the tonnage required to make a bend. The disadvantage of using wider dies is that the minimum size flange you can bend up becomes larger and so does the inside radius.
Options:
• Hook Tongue: recommend when using a segmented punch in press brakes that are fitted for hooked tongue tooling.
• Polishing: recommended when forming materials that require minimum marking (a substitute for urethane strips).
