The ANILAM 4200T control has a PC-DSP Dual Processor hardware platform.
The control uses a combination of a PC-processor and a DSP. The PC will
handle the user interface, basic block processing and manage various machine
functions. The DSP is dedicated to the motion control.
The controller has a large 12.1" color screen with draw graphics.
The 4200T also has full alphanumeric keypads.
Hard disk and compact flash drives provide data storage and input.
Networking
capability and offline software are available as options.
The programming format is conversational G-code, i.e. the control can
be programmed either with the integrated conversational tools or direct
in G-code.
The program can be generated direct in G-code or it can be generated by
using ANILAM's conversational icon based help utility. The corresponding
G-code is described in machinist's language and the operator gets conversational
prompts for data input. As the data input is completed, the desired program
step is also completed in the program. The program is finally verified
in ANILAM's user-friendly draw graphics mode, simultaneously drawing the
part, displaying the program and showing the CNC status.
The tools
include the conversational help utility, a wide range of typical canned
cycles for turning.
Canned Cycles are programming shortcuts for common machining tasks. The
machinist is prompted for a few dimensions and the control will automatically
generate the whole cycle. The result is easier and faster programming.
• Basic Cycles:
* Peck drilling
* Chipbreaker drilling
* Boring,
• Advanced Cycles:
* Ellipse Arc
* Tapping.
• Turning Cycles:
* Single pass threading
* Area clearance (ID/OD)
* Area clearance turn (ID/OD)
* Area clearance face
* Rough turning
* Rough facing
* Grooving (ID/OD)
* Face grooving
* Uni-directional threading (ID/OD)
* Bi-directional threading (ID/OD)
* Uni-directional threading face
* Bi-directional threading face
ANILAM also
includes an easy-to-use icon based shape editor.
The shape editor is based on ANILAM's easy-to-use geometry calculator.
By selecting icons for various standard geometric segments, the geometry
is described graphically and all relevant points and intersections calculated.
As the geometry is defined, the shape editor allows the machinist to completely
describe the desired shape by selecting the various segments, step by
step, combining them to form the desired shape. The operator can then
use that shape to create the actual program.
The program
is easily verified with the on-screen graphics, for simulation or while
cutting. ANILAM's Teach-mode provides an alternative way of obtaining
data for the program. In this mode, the operator manually cuts the part
and while doing so, the necessary data can be fed into the program.
Up to two
electronic handwheels can be connected to the 4200T. ANILAM's Dual Handwheel
mode provides easy access to all the most commonly used operations. It
also enables the operator to select a move type, crank one handwheel and
the control will automatically control the other axis to produce the desired
move. As an alternative, one handwheel and a 3rd readout axis can be connected.
The machinist can use the electronic handwheels exactly like he would
the manual ones. The control will feed the axes as the handwheels are
cranked. ANILAM's 4200T control SCI mode allows simple single events to
be executed without creating or inserting into a program. SCI also features
Master and Slave handwheel operations. As a further tool, ANILAM's Dual
Handwheel mode simplifies both programmming and manual operation of the
lathe. In this mode, the machinist has a set of soft keys with the most
commonly used functions. Dual Handwheel mode also enables the operator
to slave the Z-axis to the X-axis and create tapers, chamfers or radii
just by cranking one handwheel. The Z-axis will move correspondingly,
precisely controlled by the 4200T.
Spindle orientation
and integrated PLC functionality is standard in 4200T, enabling control
of turrets, bar feeders etc. 4200T has two I/O-modules standard and four
additional I/O-modules optional, i.e. a total of 60/36 I/O's possible.
ANILAM controls have extensive compensation features for automatic correction
of machine errors and various offsets.
